What do you do on a typical day at work as an application consultant?
Things can be quite varied depending on what our customers need help with. It may be that we set up their environment for SOTI and electronic shelf edge labels and are responsible for “taking care of everything”, while other times we give advice on how the customer should use their environment in the best way. I am also involved in some pre-sales activities so there can be several meetings in a week, both internally and with customers. I usually try to manage to play a little ping-pong with my colleagues at some point during the day as well, but that is more about me than my role as an application consultant.
What is your best tip for those who are considering applying for a position as an application consultant regarding the most important qualities and skills?
I think you should always be yourself first. But if I have to highlight things that are extra important in the role of application consultant, I would say that you need to have a keen interest in technology. You should also be perceptive and have the initiative and courage to test new ideas. A clear advantage is if you have worked with one or more of the systems we use or if you may have worked in similar industries before.
What’s best about working at Idnet?
The best thing about working at Idnet is that you become part of the group very quickly and everyone is very nice. You have freedom and responsibility; this is very important to me personally. There is great development potential since the company itself is growing rapidly. In addition, there are many good places to eat near the office, just another good thing.
